Lot Details
What You Should Know: Introduced around 2000, the Hommage Tri-Retrograde is one of the defining early creations of Roger Dubuis, combining a perpetual calendar with three retrograde indications for the hours, minutes and date. Its 37mm platinum case frames an unusually expressive dial, where blued hands sweep across a crisp white surface accented by distinctive black and red typography. With case No. 81 and movement No. 04, the present watch comes from the formative years of Roger Dubuis, when the independent watchmaker was developing a visual and mechanical language that was distinctly his own. In their own words: "The Hommage is a collection that was launched by Roger Dubuis as a tribute to his former teachers and master watchmakers who helped him achieve his dream. Indeed, at the creation of the Maison, Roger Dubuis, 57 years of age at the time, already had a career in fine watchmaking and a passion for complicated mechanisms. One of them was the retrograde display that became his signature, as the one found in this Hommage triple-retrograde with a module displaying the hour, minute and date, all from the centre and certified by the Poinçon de Genève." - Manufacture Roger Dubuis - Manufacturer: Roger Dubuis - Model name: Hommage Tri-Retrograde - Functions: Hours, minutes, Retrograde Perpetual Calendar - Year: 2001 - Case No.81 / Movement No.04
