What You Should Know: One of just 12 examples of Vianney Halter’s Scriptura in titanium, the present watch is immediately distinguished by its stunning dial, where the hours are represented by Chinese characters rather than traditional Arabic or Roman numerals. Set within a compact 38mm titanium case, the engraved dial and exposed mechanics bring together traditional calligraphy with the architectural, slightly futuristic aesthetic that has defined Halter’s work. Inside is the automatic VH122, conceived and manufactured in his Sainte-Croix workshop and visible through the sapphire caseback. Numbered 05 of 12, the Scriptura is a rare and particularly distinctive expression of Halter’s ability to reinterpret familiar watchmaking codes entirely on his own terms.
