What You Should Know: One of the earliest examples of Sylvain Pinaud’s award-winning Origine, the present watch is No. 9 and, according to Pinaud, a unique configuration pairing a black dial with a 40mm pink gold case and matching pink gold movement bridges. Introduced in 2022 and awarded the GPHG Horological Revelation Prize that same year, the Origine combines an exposed free-sprung balance and in-house escapement with the exceptional hand-finishing that has established Pinaud among today’s most compelling independent watchmakers. Of the 100 examples he ultimately intends to produce, Pinaud confirms that only around 5% will be cased in pink gold, giving this early, one-off configuration particular significance.
