What You Should Know: One of MB&F’s most celebrated creations, the Legacy Machine Perpetual completely re-imagined the traditional perpetual calendar when it was introduced in 2015. Developed with independent watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, its extraordinary 581-component movement uses a “mechanical processor” to simplify the calendar mechanism and protect it from incorrect adjustment, while placing much of its architecture beneath MB&F’s signature suspended balance. The present version combines a salmon-coloured dial plate with stainless steel for the first time in MB&F’s history, giving one of the manufacture’s most technically important watches an especially compelling and highly collectible configuration.
