Lot Details

What You Should Know: One of just 25 examples of the Bernhard Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer in white gold, the present watch represents one of the most ambitious modern explorations of mechanical chronometry. Inspired by George Daniels’ Independent Double Wheel Escapement, Lederer developed his calibre 9012 around two independent gear trains, each with its own barrel and 10-second remontoir d’égalité, delivering alternating impulses directly to the balance. Two interlocking apertures on the guilloché dial reveal these mechanisms in motion, while twin seconds hands rotate in opposite directions. Numbered 19 of 25 and accompanied by its original box, papers and COSC certificate, the present example offers a compelling expression of Lederer’s decades-long pursuit of precision.
