Ming - "Piece Unique" Ref. 20.01, Mono-pusher Chronograph

What You Should Know: A unique interpretation of MING’s 20.01 Series 5, created from the 25-piece blue-dial edition released in 2025, the present watch offers collectors a one-off conclusion to an important chapter in the brand’s chronograph story. Its bicolor dial is machined from a single block of titanium, combining black PVD with exposed natural titanium to reveal the intricate radial pattern beneath. More significantly, this unique piece marks MING’s final chronograph to use the Agenhor AgenGraphe, represented here by the manually wound calibre 6361.M1 with its distinctive Polar Bear central bridge. A true one-of-one for the MING collector, proceeds from its sale will help fund the brand’s next challenge: developing the lightest mechanical chronograph wristwatch. In their own words: "The 20.01s are already special watches for us because of the AgenGraphe movements and the complexity of the case construction. All of the watches in this series were also testbeds for new dial techniques because the case volume affords us a lot of physical space for experimentation. The prototype piece unique had a sapphire dial inset with HyCeram, the Mosaic had our very first lasered intra-sapphire pattern, and Series 2 had both Mosaic and gradient guilloché using multiple sapphire layers. Series 3 brought luminous-filled voids in fused borosilicate. Series 5 is the final 20.01 and has the most complex single-piece, single-material dial we've produced. It is machined from a single piece of titanium, which is then colored and laser-ablated to reveal the bare titanium below. There is a monolithic, sculptural quality to it that would not be the same had we used appliqués or moulding. As with every dial we do, this one changes dynamically with the light because of the various angles and the physical depth of the dial. This particular watch has a bicolor dial in black PVD and natural titanium, one of three dial colors we tried before settling on blue for the limited production run of Series 5 in 2025.
