Lot Details
What You Should Know: A unique example of Yosuke Sekiguchi’s Primevère, the present “Interprétation du Japon” combines a stainless steel case with a rare red aventurine seconds sub-dial, giving the watch a distinctly personal character. Born in Japan, Sekiguchi moved to Europe to pursue watchmaking before settling in Switzerland, where he worked with La Joux-Perret and Christophe Claret before establishing his own small atelier in Le Brassus. There, he makes and finishes virtually every component himself, using traditional tools and techniques. His movement is inspired by a 19th-century Jules Jürgensen pocket watch that Sekiguchi restored and studied, with its architecture recreated through his own highly artisanal approach. The result is a remarkably personal 39mm wristwatch, combining classical Swiss watchmaking with the unmistakable hand of its Japanese-born creator.
