What You Should Know: Few designers have left as lasting an impression on modern watchmaking as Gérald Genta, whose extraordinary creativity extended well beyond the celebrated Royal Oak and Nautilus. His eponymous brand provided an outlet for some of his more artistic ideas, often combining unusual case shapes, elaborate decorative details and unexpected materials. The present Pebble is a particularly charming expression of this creativity, with its softly rounded yellow gold case and beautifully iridescent mother-of-pearl dial. The dial is undoubtedly the centrepiece, displaying a captivating range of colours that shift from delicate white to shades of lavender and purple depending on the light. Its natural patterns are further enhanced by the specially shaped crystal, whose contours introduce an additional layer of texture and visual depth.
