Bringing together seven independent watchmakers, the project provided a platform for some of the most inventive figures in contemporary horology. Halter’s contribution reflects the retro-futuristic aesthetic and mechanical ingenuity for which he would become widely celebrated. Crafted in white gold, the rectangular case draws inspiration from vintage rangefinder cameras, with its finely textured surfaces recalling early photographic equipment. The unusual display incorporates jumping hours, an arrow-shaped minute hand and a sophisticated moon-phase indication, brought together in a composition that is both mechanically intriguing and visually distinctive. The design reflects Halter’s ability to reinterpret traditional horological complications through an entirely original aesthetic. The GFVH occupies an interesting position within Halter’s early career, embodying the creative independence that has come to define his work. Produced in limited numbers, the present example in white gold is offered as a full set and represents an opportunity to acquire an unusual creation from one of the pioneers of contemporary independent watchmaking.
