Journe, having originally pursued a career in architecture. His unique background goes some way towards explaining the originality of his first creation, the Dual Time, a watch that reimagines one of horology's most familiar complications. Rather than relying on a conventional GMT hand, Négault devised an ingenious panoramic display that makes reading a second time zone both intuitive and visually engaging. The upper half of the dial is dominated by a sweeping 12-hour indication, incorporating a rotating day/night display that alternates between sun and moon motifs, allowing the wearer to distinguish between daytime and nighttime at a glance. Local time is displayed on a smaller subsidiary dial below, creating a distinctive layout that is both unconventional and remarkably legible. Turning the watch over reveals the manually wound Architecture Mécanique No. 1 calibre, developed in-house and featuring beautifully finished German silver bridges, with hand-applied bevels and carefully executed surface decoration. Following an initial subscription series of just 19 watches, which sold out almost immediately, Négault introduced a limited edition of 99 stainless steel examples, all of which were quickly spoken for. Dating to 2024, the present watch is particularly appealing as number 99 of 99, the final numbered example of this sought-after series. Accompanied by its original presentation box and certificate of authenticity, it represents an opportunity to acquire an early creation from a watchmaker whose technical pedigree and refreshingly original approach have already attracted considerable attention among collectors.
