One of the most interesting configurations of the Urban Jürgensen Reference 8, this example features a display caseback that reveals its beautifully finished automatic movement. With its 37mm platinum case and intricate guilloché dial, it’s a discreet yet striking watch, perfect for collectors who value subtlety and exceptional craftsmanship. In Their Own Words: "While the Ref. 2 and Ref. 3 perpetual calendars get much of the attention when it comes to 1980s and 1990s era Urban Jürgensen, the simpler Reference 8 is also well worth a look. Available in both time-only and time-and-date configurations, this watch is a stunning example of the latter. The 37mm platinum case houses a silver dial with a guilloché center and both blue Roman numerals and blue minutes track printed around the perimeter. That blue is carried through to the blued hands with gold inserts, making the watch a bit of a chameleon, looking warmer or cooler depending on the light (and the strap it’s paired with).
