The C by Romain Gauthier Platinum Edition is a rare achievement in the world of independent sports watches, a category with only a handful of entries. Its platinum case and hand-finished white gold movement create a striking monochromatic vision, expressing Gauthier’s vision in its purest form. In Their Own Words: "When I created the first C by Romain Gauthier, my aim was to propose a haute horlogerie timepiece that embodied all the characteristics of craftsmanship, refinement, and savoir-faire, yet expressed through a more modern and casual design. The first titanium iteration represented exactly that balance. It was the first time I approached a watch with the Freedom spirit at its core. Until then, each of our creations had been conceived first and foremost within the codes of traditional watchmaking – noble materials, polished finishes, and delicate design – before later being reinterpreted in sportier iterations with more technical materials. With the C by Romain Gauthier, I deliberately reversed that process. And when I set out to develop a more Heritage-oriented version of this watch, I was determined to preserve that distinctly modern and casual character that defines the collection. Platinum and white gold are historically among the most revered materials in fine watchmaking. Crafting the movement in gold, to me, was the ultimate way to make this piece resonate with the most discerning collectors. To highlight the refinement of this movement – and to contrast it with the titanium editions – we enhanced it with polished finishes. Casual in its design but refined in its properties, this new edition is a harmony of elegance and modernity, traditional and contemporary, an evolution of tradition summarized in a single timepiece.
