Crafted in lightweight Grade 5 titanium, this all-black edition of Ressence’s iconic Type 3.5 enhances the watch’s crownless, organic form and showcases the groundbreaking design that earned Ressence the GPHG prize in 2013 In Their Own Words: "The TYPE 3.5 BB is without a doubt one of Ressence’s most iconic watches. It belongs to our « Oil Filled » family, distinguished by a dial immersed in oil. This unique technology - here, precisely 3.57 ml of oil - creates a striking, almost surreal visual effect: the indications appear literally projected onto the surface of the crystal, as if they were floating. Crafted in Grade 5 titanium, the watch is extremely light and comfortable to wear. Its 44 mm diameter feels surprisingly discreet thanks to its organic, crownless silhouette, inspired by a polished pebble. The TYPE 3.5 BB displays hours, minutes, date, day of the week, oil temperature, and a 180-second runner. It embodies the essence of Ressence’s innovations, particularly our ROCS (Ressence Orbital Convex System), which reimagines the display of time, making it fluid, intuitive, and alive. This watch fully represents the vision that led me to create Ressence: a contemporary watchmaking focused on function, legibility, and experience. In this black version, the mechanical screen effect is even stronger - a true visual signature. I remember that when it was first released, several digital watch brands acquired several pieces in an attempt to understand how it worked. In the end, they had to acknowledge that it was entirely mechanical. The TYPE 3 remains one of the creations I am most proud of.
