Lot Details

Limited to just 50 pieces, made in collaboration with Revolution, this Chopard L.U.C 1860 pairs a beautifully proportioned 36.5 mm stainless steel case with a warm, untreated 18k gold guilloché dial that speaks directly to purists and collectors alike. In Their Own Words: "We had the great pleasure of creating this steel model with Revolution and Wei Koh, a friend of our Maison, a keen observer of trends, and a lover of fine objects. In 2024, we reimagined the L.U.C 1860 case in steel, pairing it with a remarkable dial that remains true in its aesthetics to the original model launched in 1997. The L.U.C 1860 watch marked the debut of Chopard’s L.U.C collection in 1997, a completely new line at the time, created to showcase the in-house watchmaking expertise of our Manufacture in Fleurier. COSC-certified, the L.U.C 1860’s movement featured the world’s very first bidirectional micro-rotor, crafted in 22-carat gold. Bearing the prestigious Geneva Seal, it is also equipped with a swan-neck regulator, a Breguet overcoil balance spring, and a fluid, refined architecture enhanced by numerous hand-finished decorative components. The case has a slightly smaller diameter of just under 37 mm, while the dial — complex, classic, and understated — embodies timeless elegance. The Revolution special edition retains these signature design codes: the lines of the case, crafted in Lucent Steel — a recycled steel developed by Chopard — have been subtly refined, with slightly thicker lugs and a brushed finish on the caseband. The movement is the calibre 96.40-L, which differs from the original by omitting the date display and adding a stop-seconds function. It retains its stacked twin barrels, offering an impressive 65-hour power reserve. As Wei Koh is a connoisseur of fine textures, we chose a grained, matte calfskin leather strap and, most importantly, a solid gold dial without galvanic treatment. This is raw, pure gold, with a rare chromatic intensity. And so, our special edition was born." - Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard
