Introduced following his return to creating watches under his own name, the Renaissance brings together these qualities in a beautifully restrained design. The present example is particularly special, being number 1 of a series of just 24 pieces, and distinguished by its unusual tantalum case and captivating grand feu enamel dial. The dial is undoubtedly one of the watch's greatest attractions. Depending on the light, its blue enamel takes on rich purple hues, giving it a remarkable depth and character that is difficult to capture in photographs. This interplay of colour is beautifully complemented by the dark grey tones of the tantalum case, a dense and notoriously difficult material to machine, rarely encountered in traditional high-end watchmaking. A purple cabochon set into the crown provides a particularly charming finishing touch, subtly echoing the shifting colours of the dial. Beneath this elegant exterior lies the manually wound, in-house calibre ND01.s, with its beautifully arranged bridges and meticulous finishing reflecting Delaloye's commitment to traditional Swiss watchmaking. Dating to 2024 and accompanied by its original presentation box and certificate of authenticity, the present Renaissance combines an exceptionally attractive enamel dial, an uncommon case material and the added appeal of being the very first numbered example of this limited series, making it a particularly compelling creation from one of Switzerland's most respected independent watchmakers.
