Lot Details

A thoroughly modern interpretation of high-end watchmaking, the Czapek Antarctique Rattrapante places one of horology’s most captivating complications—the split-seconds chronograph—at the heart of its design. Developed in collaboration with Chronode, the watch uniquely presents the rattrapante mechanism on the dial side. Produced as a limited edition of just 77 pieces that quickly sold out, it stands among the most technically ambitious models of the Antarctique collection. The present example is preserved in exceptional condition, retaining the sharp lines and crisp finishing that define Czapek’s modern manufacture standards. In their own words: "We developed this piece in collaboration with Chronode and equipped it with our proprietary SXH6 calibre. We deliberately chose to position the rattrapante mechanism on the dial side — an unconventional architecture — to offer a direct view of its mechanics. I wanted the column wheels, levers, and cams, usually hidden deep within the movement, to be fully visible and alive, transforming a traditionally concealed complication into a true horological spectacle." - Xavier de Roquemaurel, CEO of Czapek & Cie.
