A unique version of the Racer Jumping Hour GMT, the present watch is a bold and highly original interpretation of the jumping hour complication, combining a racing-inspired aesthetic with a practical GMT display. Crafted in steel, this watch is a true pièce unique, engraved “No. 1/1” on the caseback. Anton Suhanov is widely regarded as one of the most promising young independent watchmakers, recently awarded the Horological Revelation Prize by the GPHG and previously recognized as a winner of the F.P. Journe Young Talent Competition. The present piece offers a compelling glimpse into the work of a rising talent in contemporary independent horology. In their own words: "his model is unique in that it represents a transitional stage between the first Racer watch, which was released in 2011 as a limited edition of 20 pieces, and the subsequent Racer Retro watch, released in 2013 as a limited edition of 28 pieces. The blue titanium tones and streamlined case typical of the first version are juxtaposed with partial skeletonization and a more complex guilloche pattern that will be implemented in the Retro. This model allows one to understand the thought process and direction of the watchmaker's research, the evolution of certain design and engineering solutions, which further reveals the overall concept." - Anton Suhanov, founder and watchmaker.
