Lot Details
What You Should Know: The König Albert Von Sachsen represents the highest expression of Lang & Heyne’s watchmaking. Produced in extremely small numbers, it combines regal design with one of horology’s most prestigious complications. While most chronographs display elapsed minutes on a small subdial, the König Albert instead uses a central chronograph minute hand, mounted coaxially with the central chronograph seconds hand. This allows both elapsed seconds and elapsed minutes to be read directly from the center of the dial, making timing much more intuitive. Developed under the direction of founder Marco Lang, the manually wound Calibre IV is entirely hand-finished in the traditional Saxon style and widely regarded as one of the most beautiful chronograph movements of the modern independent era. Its extraordinary architecture, engraved details, and commanding 44mm platinum case give the watch a uniquely aristocratic presence worthy of its royal namesake. Rarely seen on the market, the König Albert Von Sachsen remains one of the most elusive creations in the Lang & Heyne catalogue and a landmark achievement in independent German watchmaking.
