Lot Details

What You Should Know: This is a true one-of-one De Bethune, and the only known Kind of Two Jumping GMT to feature a red hour marker at 8 o’clock — a detail that earned it the nickname “Lucky Number 8.” The Kind of Two Jumping GMT is one of the most technically ambitious watches in the De Bethune catalogue, combining dual time zones with the brand’s patented jumping seconds mechanism. The jumping seconds system can be fully admired on the openworked side of the watch, turning the movement itself into a constantly animated mechanical display. The entire titanium case flips over, giving the watch a playful, almost magical quality — transforming from a sleek contemporary dial into an exposed mechanical sculpture on the wrist. With its reversible case, futuristic design language, and highly recognizable architecture, the Kind of Two Jumping GMT is widely seen as a future classic and one of De Bethune’s defining modern creations.
